On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the death of Louis George Nicolas Busman, the exhibition “Years of Travel” is dedicated to the landscapes traveled by Busman. The different facets of his landscape paintings reflect a longing for distance, adventure and freedom, but at the same time also a deep inner peace.

In 1991 the art historian, writer and critic Dr. Olav Münzberg in the foreword to a catalog entitled “Excursions” with the words: “One always wants to leave in order to come back home.” This modest title aptly describes the life of Louis G.N. Busman, because nothing has influenced his life as much as traveling. From Europe to Italy to Norway, from England to Hungary, from Argentina, Chile and Peru to Panama, Guatemala, Mexico, USA, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Lebanon, Namibia and Morocco - Busman's passion took him through a wide variety of landscapes and cultures.
