A Hobbit special guest, as well as the voice of Saruman, Sir Christopher Lee, will take all film music lovers into the fantastic musical world of "Lord of the Rings." In a grand concert experience featuring symphonic orchestra, choir and star guests, the fabled world of hobbits, yew trees and orcs is brought to life.

From the menacing sounds of Mordar and the shrill attack of the Black Riders to the beautiful lyrical melodies of the Yew - nearly 100 performers will transform the Schlossberg stage Kasematten into a musical setting of Middle-earth.

A hobbit from the film as a special guest will provide a special mood and Royd Tolkien will personally tell the stories of his grandfather J.R.R. Tolkien. ,,The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit - the Concert", is the only concert initiated by a major star from the films and shines with recordings: ,,Saruman" Sir Christopher Lee, welcomes visitors from the screen!

Composer Howard Share created much of the music for the film trilogy "The Lord of the Rings" and ,,The Little Hobbit" and was awarded an Oscar for this. As in Richard Wagner's "Ring of the Nibelung", his leitmotifs make the audience feel in the flesh when the ring unfolds its power and corrupts the bearer of all power: A parable that fits perfectly into today's age as well.

The concert has so much momentum that at the end all the guests dance along enthusiastically. Star guest Sky du Mont said after his first concert on ARD: "I've never experienced anything like it, the audience freaking out so enthusiastically." Ben Becker cried with joy after his first appearance as a speaker, and also said he had never experienced anything like it.

From the two film triologies, Pippin actor Billy Boyd has starred in recent years, composing and singing "Edge of Night" in The Lord of the Rings and "The Last Goodbye" in The Hobbit for Peter Jackson. He will perform these works live at selected concerts in Germany. Billy Boyd was originally only hired as an actor by director Peter Jackson, but sang so impressively one night in a karaoke bar in New Zealand that the producers asked him if he could compose a song for the film, since composer Howard Share was not yet ready with more songs? The day after next Billy Boyd presented three self-composed songs in Peter Jackson's house - one day later a scene with the new song "Edge of Night" was shot!

The press celebrates "The Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit - The Concert" as a "highly emotional and mythical experience" and praises:

"Almost 100 actors - from the well-performing orchestra to the strong-voiced Shire Choir to the outstanding soloists - showed commitment to transport the audience into Tolkien's far-famed fantasy world ...

Whether bombastic with timpani and gong or elven tender flute tones: Again and again the well-known, Oscar-awarded melodies of Howard Share from the film trilogy sounded, which immediately provided for the suitable "cinema in the head" .....

In the end, neither the audience nor the musicians were able to stay in their seats: the audience gave a standing ovation and brought the actors on stage for three encores.
