Powerful woman, powerful voice, powerful songs - Lizzo is not only a great singer and songwriter, but also a figurehead of the positivity movement, women's rights activist, self-love and important voice of the People of Color. Melissa Viviane Jefferson aka Lizzo was born in 1988 in Detroit.
The Motor City shapes Lizzo musically and she grows up with gospel. As a child, the family moves to Houston, Texas, and Lizzo is increasingly coming into contact with hip-hop and R'n'B.
