Not least during the celebration of love, insults become rampant and nestle in our Christmas-disturbed hearts. We have become a big club of the offended. In traffic, at the supermarket checkout, among relatives, in small and large politics, everywhere we shake our heads and collect insults, someone is always trying to do something to us.
With the help of Dave Eggers and Anton Chekhov, among others, we look at the history of insults and the cleverest way to deal with them. What is a good insult? Should you basically insult back? How do we look good when insulted? Is it even possible to look good while being insulted?
