J.S. Bach: Johannes-Passion BWV 245
Robert Schumann found Johann Sebastian Bach's St. John Passion much "bolder, more powerful and more poetic" than his much more famous St. Matthew Passion. Whereas the "big brother" is characterized by a quiet pensiveness, the character of the St. John Passion is quite dramatic, driven especially by the choruses: In this concert, the Karl Forster Choir brings the different groups of people - disciples, people or priests - to sound.
