The Bloomsbury Ensemble from London returns to Germany in early June, this time making guest appearances in Brandenburg and Berlin. The group loves to put together colorful and varied programs, with pieces that touch the heart and music that makes the feet tap. Each piece is introduced with stories and interesting background information.

Fans of classical music will enjoy J.S. Bach's famous "Ricercar" from his Musical Offering (first performed for Frederick the Great in Potsdam). Then there are works with a jazzy theme, such as Jim Parker's exciting trad-jazz pastiche "Mississippi Five," as well as Geoffrey Keating's elegant "Tea Dances."

The group also presents a musical sketch of a fairground, some traditional dances from Hungary, a large sextet by Ludwig Thuille that draws on Johannes Brahms, and more.
