workshop report on peace ethics from the EKD
Since the EKD peace memorial in 2007, the global political architecture has changed. At the same time, sensibilities, such as geostrategic considerations and postcolonial criticism, have increased. As a result, with Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine in spring 2022, which violated international law, a new debate about the ethics of peace arose within the church. A new orientation has not yet developed from this.

The EKD Peace Workshop, chaired by the EKD Peace Officer, Bishop Friedrich Kramer, the theologian Reiner Anselm and Academy Director Friederike Krippner, has therefore set itself the task of setting up a process that will further rethink the EKD Peace Memorandum under these new circumstances.
