Mongolian New Year event
Traditional Mongolian cultural heritage is closely linked to nomadic life and Mongolian nature. The performance is intended to show that the realization of creation has always evolved from the ancestors to the present day, while retaining its essence and being in harmony with the creative processes of the artists.
The audience experiences the unique Mongolian dance Bie-Biyelgee and overtone singing with the horse-head violin, the national instrument of the Mongols. Beatbox Ray offers a fusion of traditional and modern Mongolian rhythms.
The program is rounded off by the Altai Yatga (Altai bow harp), which was found in Mongolia in 2008. The instrument was in remarkable condition after an estimated 1,400 years of undisturbed storage. It is the only musical instrument of its kind ever found.
