The sound of Django Reinhardt and the Quintette du Hot Club de France! In the spirit of the legendary Parisian hotbed of Gipsy Jazz, the Hot Club of Berlin brings the original arrangements and compositions of Django Reinhardt and his companions as well as the joy of playing and the "vibe".
The Hot Club of Berlin is led by Francisco Batista & Thomas Dekas, stylistically experienced guitarists who have been on stage with the big names of the Gypsy Jazz world such as Mozes Rosenberg, Paulus Schäfer, Gonzalo Bergara, Sebastien Giniaux. This time they will be accompanied by Martin Buhl, also one of Django's, Schnuckenack's and Grappelli's heirs.
This concert series takes place once a month at Zig Zag and the Hot Club invites different artists to pay tribute to Gipsy Jazz. With each guest, a new musical treat is brought to the table. This time it's Roland Satterwhite!Eldar Tsalikov moved to Berlin in 2011 after initial studies in his native Tar, where he began his studies at the "Jazz Institute Berlin" and added the clarinet to the saxophone as a second instrument. In 2018, Eldar successfully graduated from the institute with a Bachelor's degree as an instrumentalist and a Master's degree as an arranger and composer. A skilled and versatile musician, Eldar has expanded his knowledge of jazz music (and not only that), collaborating with numerous European and Western performers of the various types of this genre: from the profound traditional styles, such as "hot jazz" (or "trad jazz") and swing, to modern forms of jazz and experimental music (Greg Cohen, Joey Baron, Laurie Anderson, Elias Stemeseder, Manlio Maresca, "The HAF", Anna Webber's "Percussive Mechanics"). With these and many other artists, Eldar has traveled throughout various countries, performing in world-renowned venues and concert halls.
