Two-part sound installation by Georg Klein

GRÜN HÖREN (GREEN LISTENING) plays with the acoustic perception of landscape: interactive listening trees surprise passers-by on the Tälchenbrücke with sound sequences coming from the greenery, while at the end of the bridge one actively listens into the greenery with a sound telescope.

The installation thematizes human interaction with foreign species in nature, the so-called neobiota - immigrant species. Thus, irritatingly exotic bird voices emerge from six listening trees, which are imitated by instrumentalists of the State Opera and played around in 12 bird duets.

  • The installation is located at the Tälchenbrücke in the Gärten der Welt.
  • Accessible during opening hours.
