At the center of their music has always been the connection between the old and the new. With their fourth album, "Late Reflections" (out April 21, 2023 on City Slang), German-Swiss music duo Grandbrothers now relate their work to an institution that predates their music by seven centuries: Cologne Cathedral.

The iconic monument of Gothic architecture, UNESCO World Heritage Site and Germany's most visited landmark served as an unorthodox recording studio for Erol Sarp and Lukas Vogel's new album.

It is the first time in the history of its existence that the cathedral has made its premises available for recordings of this kind. The result is an album with a precise sense of history and architecture, an album that makes the spatial characteristics of this magnificent building part of its hypnotic composition itself and transforms them into sound.

The sound from the special building in Cologne will be transmitted to the Theater des Westens on October 02, 2023, once again giving Grandbrothers the distinction of being a very special and exciting act of the modern era.

Accessibility

All levels of the theater are accessible without steps via an elevator on the right side of the building. Please check in at the front entrance and follow the instructions to the elevator entrance on the side of the building. The two upper balconies are accessible via steps. The main floor and mezzanine are accessible without steps.

The seats in the theater are old and may be restrictive for some people. The seats in the high stalls are larger and less mobility restrictive, so we recommend them if you have concerns about your access and/or comfort.

Certain seats may obstruct or limit visibility; this will be noted on the specific seat at the time of purchase. If you are afraid of heights or have a fear of heights, you should not purchase tickets for the second balcony.

Seating is reserved for wheelchair users in the high balcony, as this area offers the best and most comfortable view. Wheelchair accessible restrooms are also located on this level. Caregivers accompanying a person in a wheelchair or a person with a severely disabled ID will receive a complimentary ticket if you contact us in advance. Please email tickets@tingeltangel.berlin at the time of purchase and we will make sure you have the best experience possible.
