Feelings at the end of the world. How are we doing in the face of the circumstances? One thing seems clear: the decline can no longer be ignored, let alone stopped. While the number of crises that Central Europeans have to deal with is increasing, the question of which society can actually react to them and in what way is becoming more and more urgent.
Philipp Wüschner and Henrike Kohpeiß invite you to a philosophical discussion in the Red Salon once a month to discuss sensitivities and observations with guests who are also racking their brains about the present.
Right at the transition from theory to practice, we address terms that are the cause of social controversy, such as REALITY and CATASTROPHE, as well as those that promise healing, such as COMFORT and CLOSENESS. The series is based on the conviction that it is no longer possible to think meaningfully about the end of the world in an abstract way - and that we must still try.
Dr. Philipp Wüschner studied philosophy, Catholic. Theology and musicology in Tübingen and Berlin and received his doctorate in 2014 with a thesis on the subject of attitude in Aristotle. He then worked as a research assistant at the Free University of Berlin, at the Université Paris Nanterre, and as a lecturer at the UDK Berlin and Burg Giebichenstein in Halle. Philipp Wüschner thinks, writes, translates and teaches in Berlin on theories of feelings and affects, aesthetics and design, as well as power and authority. He sometimes reads tarot.
Dr. Henrike Kohpeiß studied philosophy and applied theater studies in Berlin, Rome, Vienna and Giessen. She is a research assistant at the Collaborative Research Center "Affective Societies" at the Free University of Berlin and completed her social-philosophical doctorate on bourgeois coldness there in 2022. The focus of her work and teaching is on critical theory, black studies and feminism as well as affect and emotion theory. She is occasionally involved in works in dance and performance as a performer or dramaturge.
