Young master hands, an instrument in the spotlight

Three first-prize winners from the 2026 “Jugend musiziert” national competition take to the stage at the Centre Bagatelle – and with them an instrument that is far too rarely in the spotlight: the accordion.

In the main programme, the trio of prize-winners – Rubina Cvjetkovic (accordion), Luisa Lavarello (violin) and Henriette Köster (cello) – will perform works by Il-Ryun Chung, Erkki Jokinen and Franz-Michael Deimling, and present a world premiere by Bardo Henning, which will be heard for the very first time this evening.

The evening will be complemented by a duo featuring Georgina Dzonova (clarinet) and Bela Sporrer (accordion), as well as solo performances by Emilia Zurschmitten and Aaron Hartmann (both accordion) – with compositions by Uros Rojko, Peter Ablinger, Mayako Kubo and Witold Lutosławski that will surprise, challenge and delight.

An evening for all who love chamber music – and for all who wish to rediscover the accordion.
