Piano Trios by Haydn, Chausson, and Illés

Among the few internationally renowned piano trios, the Morgenstern Trio—whose members have been playing together since their student days at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen—holds a prominent place.

To mark its debut at the Pierre Boulez Saal, the ensemble will present not only well-known and lesser-known piano trios from the 18th through the 20th centuries, but also a new work by the Hungarian composer and student of Rihm, Márton Illés, who recently made a name for himself with world premieres performed by the Berlin Philharmonic and at the Musikfest Berlin.
