The impressive Etna Guitar Duo (Elham Nazem & Ekaterina Petrova) takes its audience on a musical journey through different eras.

From the majestic sounds of the Renaissance to contemporary masterpieces, the duo offers a diverse selection.

The program includes “La Vida Breve” by Manuel de Falla, “Vocalise” by Rachmaninoff in the sophisticated arrangement by Daniel Göritz as well as rousing pieces by Sergio Assad, John Dowland and Joaquin Rodrigo. Elham Nazem and Ekaterina Petrova teach at the Spandau and City West music schools.

One thing is clear: the most famous songs by Dire Straits have never been heard like they are on “Going Home”. Arne Jansen takes listeners on a journey to the roots of his passion for music and lets them feel with every nuanced note what Dire Straits and their guitarist Mark Knopfler once meant to him and what finely branched impressions they left on his soul.

In Stephan Braun (cello), with whom he has been closely connected musically and as a friend for over 20 years, Jansen has a duet partner who is both surprising and perfect. Braun is a one-man orchestra who can take on the functions of an entire band thanks to an additional low string on the cello, unusual percussive playing techniques and great improvisational skills.
