On Saturday, 9 September from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will open the gates of Bellevue Palace and turn the entire park into a stage for voluntary work.
More than 50 organisations, initiatives and companies will present their social commitment - and look forward to exchanging ideas with visitors under the motto "Im WIR verbunden" (Connected in WE).
The colourful programme promises a day that is as exciting as it is informative, with offerings for all ages:
Top-class artistic performances can be experienced on five stages - from music and dance to theatre and acrobatics.
In the talk series "Im WIR verbunden", well-known personalities from politics and society will discuss the most important challenges of our time, among others with the Federal President.
If you want to share your own opinion on the topic of commitment and volunteering, come to the "Im WIR verbunden-Studio":
There, well-known podcasters and YouTube creators invite you to join in the conversation.
Culinary delights will also be catered for thanks to numerous food and drink stands. In keeping with this year's partner countries, Thuringia and the Czech Republic, guests can look forward to highlights typical of the country: from the 150-metre-long Thuringian Rostbratwurst and dumplings to Czech Rollbraten and honey cake.
- Admission to the Bürgerfest is free, but tickets must be booked in advance via buergerfest-bundespraesident.de.
