Clay figures have long been overlooked when looking at ancient Greece. Wrongly so, because, as the exhibition shows, they fulfilled important functions in ancient everyday life: whether in the household, in the sanctuary or as burial objects. Some figurines are mass-produced, others are artistically outstanding individual pieces. Coloured, they give a vivid impression of the society of ancient Greece and its values.
