Year of the Tuba 2024 at the Musikinstrumenten-Museum

The concert is part of the exhibition "Low brass. A brief history of low brass instruments" to mark the Year of the Tuba 2024 at the Musikinstrumenten-Museum. Thomas Leleu, one of the world's leading tuba players, will perform at this year's concert.

Thomas Leleu has gained international recognition for his exceptional technique and ability to integrate the tuba into various musical genres, from classical to jazz and contemporary compositions.

As a soloist, Leleu has performed with renowned orchestras such as the Orchestre National de France and the Munich Chamber Orchestra.

On 24 October, accompanied by Guillaume Vincent on the piano, Thomas Leleu will play works by Saint-Saens, Rachmaninov and Piazzolla, among others.

The second half of the concert will see the performance of ‘Tuba on the Beat’, a chamber music jazz project with Latin American and experimental stylistic elements.
Daniel Casimir and Gerhard Gschlößl will play the tuba, accompanied by Laura Robles on the cajón and Julius Apriardi on the vibraphone.
