Cityscapes by photographer Thomas Platow

The exhibition in the Rotes Rathaus shows Thomas Platows photographs from 30 years of his work for the State of Berlin. Thomas Platow was employed by the Landesbildstelle Berlins and later by the Landesarchiv Berlin from 1990 to 2021. Through his work, he has made a significant contribution to photographically recording important Berlin events in the years since reunification. Platow's photos document structural changes in the cityscape since the fall of the Wall and show political-social life - from Green Week to state visits.

His photographs are part of a series on buildings, institutions and protocol-political appointments that serve to photographically document Berlin and are also of artistic value as testimonies to the city's history.

The exhibition was conceived by the Landesarchiv Berlin.

The exhibition can be visited from 4 August to 7 September 2022 during the opening hours of the Rotes Rathaus Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm.

Admission is free.
