Welcome to a concert that brings the sensual lushness of summer to life with ravishing compositions & in a cheerful way in the glittering ambience of the Great Orangery.
The divertimento - Italian: pleasure - with its entertaining & dance-like character was popular & widespread at European courts until the end of the 18th century.
The Berlin Residence Ensemble under the direction of Alexandra Rossmann will play wonderful representatives of this musical genre for you - including the Divertimento in D Major No. 3 by Leopold Mozart & Joseph Haydn's Divertimento in E-flat Major Hob. II:6 with its lyrically expressive violin singing in the central Adagio, which is framed by two melodically catchy, lively movements as the outer bracket & by two minuets as the inner bracket.
The Sinfonia in D major "La Veneziana" by Antonio Salieri rounds off the summer music experience with romantic flair.
For one concert, feel yourself transported with all your senses from the fragile present to summery light-heartedness and enjoy the evening!
