Di Gasn Trio is an Israeli band that is mainly influenced by the music of the Balkans and Eastern European Klezmer music, weaving it with Arabic as well as jazz and classical influences in a breathtaking way!
The band is passionate about preserving authentic Balkan and Klezmer sounds and generates enthusiasm and pure joy during its performances, sweeping the audience away.
Di Gasn Trio was founded in 2012 by clarinetist Gal Klein and accordionist Yanush Hurwitz while they were studying at the Jerusalem Academy of Music. Since 2017, Di Gasn Trio has grown into a quartet, though the name remains. The live spectacle has performed on stages around the world at classical, jazz, indie and world music festivals.
Gal Klein - Prominent Israeli musician, classically trained, fluent in Klezmer and Balkan music.
Graduated from The Jerusalem Academy of Music, Jazz and Improvisation Class. Gal is an activist in The Klezmer and Yiddish world. He speaks the language that was common to Eastern Europe Jews who played that music Style, and he preserved and renew this old culture around the Globe. Founder of 'Ramzailech' Hardcore Klezmer Band and 'Di Gasn Trio' (NCPA Beijing guests 2016).
Yanush Hurwitz - Former and band member of Di Gasn Trio, is a multi-disciplinary versatile musician. He owns BA in music from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. His repertoire includes classical music, world, and traditional music, while his main focus is on Balkan and Eastern-European music. Yanush performs and records regularly with different ensembles and also as a soloist.
Asaf Rabi - Compositor, Bassist and music teacher. Plays at “The Jerusalem Orchestra East&West”. Graduated from The Amsterdam’s Academy of Music. Played with Amir Benayoun, David Broza, and Nasreen Qadri.
Ori Naveh - Drum & percussions player in a wide range of bands and ensembles. Ori also leads music & rhythm workshops, teach music and produces musical shows for youth and children. Ori studied in Rimon music school and in ‘Escuela Gi Da’ samba school in Salvador, Brazil. Ori plays with: Uldum band (Brazil), Tipex band (Israel), Kobi Aflalo (Israel), Hanan Yoval (Israel) and many more.
