Deutscher Filmpreis (German film award) 2020

The German Film Award "Deutscher Filmpreis", the Lola, is the most prestigious and best endowed award for German film. The Lola is awarded annually by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, Minister of State Prof. Monika Grütter, at a glamorous gala. The winners will be decided by the approximately 2000 members of the German Film Academy in a multi-stage election process.

The award is an event of the DEUTSCHE FILMAKADEMIE in cooperation with the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM), produced by DFA Produktion GmbH.

The prize, called "Lola", was named after Marlene Dietrich's character in the film "The Blue Angel" and derived from the movie "LOLA RENNT".
