Derived from the Portuguese word *Desmatar*: to uproot or clear vegetation. *Desmatar* plays with spaces and places; it interacts with the people and structures that surround us, breaking down these spaces and thereby creating dialogues and points of escape within them.

It is a piece that adapts to any location and any scene – regardless of the specific conditions or constraints.

*Desmata* is the cry of an iceberg, a thawing of lamentations, a colossal bubble of carbon dioxide, laced with human pollution. It is the ultimate harvest of the thoughtlessness that humankind has sown. Desmata is the death of the planet’s last tree; Desmata is the last gorilla, the last chimpanzee, the last orangutan, the last woolly monkey, trying to save a tree – to embrace it, to cling to it – which is already dead inside, even if it still retains some of its greenery and foliage.

Desmata is a human being, a *Chango* and a *Changüito*, as well as a plant and a small bird. *Chango = monkey*
