The traveling exhibition commemorates people who were persecuted as "asocials" and "professional criminals" under National Socialism. Their experiences are the focus.
Between 1933 and 1945, authorities and the police took up social prejudices. They controlled, harassed and deprived tens of thousands of their freedom. Many were murdered.
The Federal Republic, the GDR and Austria refused to compensate those affected. Their experiences of injustice were denied. It was not until 2020 that the German Bundestag decided to recognize them as victims of National Socialism.
The exhibition will be officially opened in Berlin on October 10, 2024.
From October 11, 2024 to January 31, 2025, interested parties can visit the exhibition at B.Place, Cora-Berliner-Straße 2, 10117 Berlin, from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (last admission at 5.30 p.m.).
