But although Berlin is the capital of club and subcultures, where dreams of creativity and freedom can come alive, local and global crises are making a sustainable vision for the future of club culture more difficult. It is threatened by gentrification, unaffordable rents and a lack of space.
How can club culture provide hope in challenging and chaotic times?
Some of the people who have provided answers to this question will receive special recognition at CLUB CULTURE DAY:
40 clubs and collectives will be honoured for their special cultural work and the programmes, spaces and communities they create within Berlin's club culture.
