During the summer holidays, visitors can dive into the coral reef. In the "Coral for everyone" holiday program, they build a huge, colorful coral reef out of recycled materials such as plastic, fabric, cardboard and paper in the museum courtyard.

From July 17 to August 27, 2023, the children will explore life in the sea, learn what reef dwellers have to do with the people in the city and how people can protect them.

On a marine activity course, visitors act as sea anemones, researchers or activists and can test their skills while protecting animals, exploring ocean currents and clearing the sea of plastic waste.

The reading lounge invites you to read, read aloud and relax with exciting books on the subject of the sea every day.

Storytellers from Ernarkunst e.V. provide entertainment with underwater stories and live music. V. On July 27 and 28, 2023, at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., they will present stories about sunken islands, jellyfish, fish, turtles and mermen.

The holiday program is included in the entrance fee for the environmental exhibition “Of course today! Participate for tomorrow” for children from three to eleven years and is realized with the kind support of the Deutsches Kinderhilfswerk, the Kreuzberger Kinderstiftung and kulturvoll e. V
