The Kinder Musical Theater in Berlin e.V. presents its new play "Behind the Realm of the Snow Queen" from the end of March 2023. More than 80 children between 6 and 18 years perform the specially written piece a total of 11 times in the Fontane House in Berlin-Reinickendorf.
"The children are looking forward to finally being on stage again after three years of training, rehearsals and a long break from performing due to corona," says director and club founder Volkmar Neumann. "The audience can look forward to an enchanting show that is all about fun, adventure and music."
The play "Behind the Realm of the Snow Queen" is an adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale "The Snow Queen." Director Volkmar Neumann and author Barbara Radunz have conjured up a musical full of adventure and entanglements from it: An evil elf queen banishes the Berlin boy Daniel because he refuses to marry her daughter. His girlfriend Irma, Purzel the rabbit, and Vicki the little elf then search for Daniel. On their journey around the world they meet wild witches, the four winds, celebrate exuberant beach parties in the south and encounter the planets Mars, Venus, Neptune and Mercury.
"Behind the Realm of the Snow Queen" is the eighth production of the Kinder Musical Theater in Berlin. Director and association founder Volkmar Neumann has previously staged successful shows at the Friedrichstadtpalast. For 19 years, together with professional acting, singing and dancing teachers from Berlin's theater and music scene, he has been teaching children and young people from all Berlin districts and social classes and preparing them for the stage shows.
