People have always loved celebrating, and where better to talk about it than in a palace? This tour of selected rooms tells the story of courtly festive culture and Christmas traditions within the royal family and in Berlin.

Schloss Charlottenburg
Charlottenburg Palace was a particularly popular venue for festivities in the 18th century. Although it was scarcely used in winter, authentic and faithfully restored rooms, grand ballrooms, cityscapes and portraits bring the past to life. They also provide an opportunity to discuss Christmas:

Please note: The guided tours on 7 December and 21 December are aimed specifically at adults. On the other two Sundays in Advent, guided tours for families with children are available. During the Advent season, the programme can be booked for groups from Tuesday to Thursday.
