Hooligan Art Community
Combining music, poetry, dance and film, this unique theatre event is a powerful exploration of love versus totalitarianism and the personal conflicts of making art in time of war.

Bunker Cabaret is a new performance by Hooligan Art Community which took its starting point in the bomb shelters of Kyiv.
Combining music, poetry, dance and film, this unique theatre event is a powerful exploration of love versus totalitarianism, and the personal conflicts of making art in a time of war.
By turns ironic, raw, funny and devastating, the performance starkly reveals the artists’ individual experiences of the war while communicating a shared humanity, creating beautiful moments of connection between artists and audiences.

Bunker Cabaret has been funded entirely by generous private donations and crowdfunding campaigns, which have had to cover the making and living costs for our company of displaced artists from Ukraine. The production was originally produced in collaboration with Volta International Festival and Mahogany Opera and developed in residency at Somerset House, Britten Pears Arts and 101 Outdoor Arts. The german premiere followed in November 2022 in Berlin at Luftraum.
