The Bundesjugendorchester with Mahler’s Ninth Symphony

This year, the Bundesjugendorchester, conducted by Markus Poschner, will perform Mahler's Ninth Symphony, the composer's last completed symphony, at the Philharmonie. With its disjointed, disparate tonal language, the symphony is regarded as Mahler's aural legacy - and at the same time as a signpost to musical modernity.

For the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Bundesjugendorchester is more than just a highly talented young orchestra: as sponsors, they feel a special bond with this top youth formation. This is demonstrated, among other things, by annual invitations to the Philharmonie Berlin.
