Eve Harris talks about Jewish Orthodox life and her new novel with author Florian Werner at the Literaturhaus Berlin. The German translation will be read by actress Veronika Bachfischer.
She's finally back! Chani Kaufman, Eve Harris' courageous protagonist from orthodox Jewish London! After their wedding, Chani and Baruch moved to Jerusalem, where Baruch is studying to become a rabbi. They have been trying to conceive a child for ten months now, but have been unsuccessful, causing Chani, in particular, a great deal of distress and anxiety. Baruch has the right to separate from her if she is unable to bear him children. In their distress, they turn to Baruch's parents and travel back to London for a fertility test. And once again, Chani makes a brave decision.
