A really big thing: The Big Band and Mette Nadja Hansen! In 2024, Markus Ehrlich's flexible intervention force will be guesting at WABE on several dates with a large cast.

With the Big Band project, the flexible intervention force unites a dozen brass players (trumpets, trombones and saxophones) with a rhythm section made up of piano, guitar, double bass and drums. 17 outstanding soloists put themselves at the service of a big and versatile sound for one evening.

This time, the incredibly playful ensemble has some big band classics in its repertoire, which the members of the flexible intervention force have been looking forward to for a long time. This special evening's program will feature hits from the legendary Count Basie Orchestra and Terry Gibbs' band, such as Tico Tico and Li'l Darlin' as well as Blues in Hoss' Flat and many more.

In addition, some new and specially made arrangements for the wonderful singer Mette Nadja Hansen will be heard, as well as swinging original compositions from various band members. With The Big Band, Markus Ehrlich's flexible intervention force presents another concert highlight with swinging grooves, breakneck solos, spotted ballads and powerful shout choruses in big band tutti. You should not miss that!
