A journey through time from the old Tiergarten district to Italy and back
The renowned art historian Prof. Dr. Horst Bredekamp, Humboldt University in Berlin, is presenting the expanded new edition of his architectural guide »Berlin am Mediteranean« in St. Matthäus-Kirche.

»Berlin on the Mediterranean« is the name of the newly published and expanded volume by art historian Horst Bredekamp, which traces the birth of Berlin out of a longing for Italy and which he has expanded to include a chapter on St. Matthäus-Kirche and the old Tiergarten district.
Because the St. Matthew's Church, built in the style of northern Italian Romanesque, owes itself to this longing for Italy.
In cooperation with the publishing house Klaus Wagenbach.
