After last year's success, 13 WDSF world ranking tournaments will again be held in 2024 as part of the Berlin Dance Festival in the Max-Schmeling-Halle.

From April 12th to 14th, the Berlin Dance Festival will continue the tradition of WDSF tournaments in the center of Berlin that has been going on for over two decades. While the Blue Ribbon of the Spree is organized by the two host clubs at Easter in the Siemensstadt Sport Center with national tournaments, the international dance tournaments, including 13 WDSF world ranking tournaments from juniors to masters (as well as International Open Amateur Standard and Latin), take place in the Max Schmeling Hall.

The tournament program of the Berlin Dance Festival 2024 is also influenced by European championships. The World DanceSport Federation announced in early February that Berlin's bids for two continental championships were successful. The Berlin Dance Festival will also be hosting two international dance championships this year: the European Championships for Masters II in standard dances will be held in the arena on Saturday, April 13th. On the third and final day of the event (Sunday, April 14th) the WDSF European Championship of Masters I in the combination of 10 dances will take place in the arena of the Max-Schmeling-Halle.

The tournament offering for dance athletes from all over the world includes a total of 15 competitions, including two European Championships and 13 WDSF world ranking tournaments from juniors to masters, which are also all (where possible) national (DTV) ranking tournaments.

In addition to the tournaments, national junior tournaments for D, C and B classes are held in the A+B halls. On Saturday there will be standard dancing, and on Sunday the young talent will present themselves in Latin American dances.

Another premiere is available to all those interested in boogie-woogie and rock'n'roll and dancers: In cooperation with the German Rock'n'Roll and Boogie-Woogie Association (DRBV), the offer includes national and international workshops with top artists. Trainers expanded. On Saturday and Sunday (April 13th and 14th) dancers have the opportunity to gain new impulses and suggestions.

Highlights for spectators are show tournaments on Saturday evening in the arena of the Max-Schmeling-Halle as well as a boogie-woogie and rock'n'roll night with a live band and DJ in the State Dance Performance Center from 8 p.m.

Some tournaments take place in Halls A/B or in Hall C of the Max Schmeling Hall, while the arena mainly hosts the two European Championships and the International Open tournaments. At the State Dance Performance Center everything revolves around boogie-woogie and rock'n'roll. Nevertheless, all dance sports fans are united under one roof, which makes Berlin's Max-Schmeling-Halle special. At the same time, spectators can move between all hall areas (arena and halls A/B/C) in absolutely short distances.
