Long Night of the Museums in the Museum for Communication
At the SOUNDS OF BERLIN EDITION of the "Long Night of Museums", the Museum for Communication presents the captivating BERLIN BEAT NIGHT. On August 26, 2023, from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., the museum invites you to an incomparable event, where the museum itself will become the pulsating center.
The atrium will be transformed into an authentic wrestling spectacle in which the queer-feminist artist collective hannsjana carries out energetic feminist debates in the ring, accompanied by inspiring texts, videos and music.
Before and after the wrestling matches, the Statistics Choir, conducted by Bernadette La Hengst, will perform protest songs dealing with issues such as climate change, excessive Berlin rents and ignorance of critical thinking.
The "Long Night of the Museums" also marks the end of the exhibition "STREIT. An Approach". This offers the opportunity to delve into various aspects of disputes through a humorous, scenic tour - be it about money, love, art or power.
The fascinating world of communication can be experienced in the permanent exhibition in German and English and can be explored on guided express tours.
There are also exciting workshops for children and families as well as temporary tattoos with motifs related to arguments and music - painless and with a touch of style.
In the museum courtyard, visitors can expect a summer cinema with Berlin music films, accompanied by refreshing drinks and snacks to ensure relaxation.
The crowning glory this year is an unforgettable party with underground hip-hop icon Lena Stoehractor and the rousing beats of Marisa Akeny, aka "femdelic", and DJ Boogie Dan. A beat party not to be missed!
