Ludwig van Beethoven: The String Quartets II
From the very beginning, the music of Ludwig van Beethoven has played a central role in the repertoire of the Belcea Quartet, which has had close ties to the Pierre Boulez Saal since its opening. Due to the pandemic, the ensemble was unable to complete its concert series commemorating the composer’s 250th birthday in 2020.

Now, to mark the 200th anniversary of his death in 2027, the four musicians are making up for lost time:
Over six Sundays from October through April, they will perform all 16 of Beethoven’s string quartets, combining early, middle, and late works in each program.
