ID Festival 2024 – Immersives Musikalisches Erlebnis

AuditivVokal Dresden, under the artistic direction of Olaf Katzer, explores the possibilities and limits of art in the world premiere of "BECOME CHOIR". The immersive concert experience is an invitation to think and talk about the past and identity: To what extent can art be a medium for the human experience of historical trauma and contribute to processes of change?

At the centre of the immersive concert experience is a tonal spectrum ranging from early to contemporary music, which includes Paul Celan's "Todesfuge" as well as ritual mourning songs such as the Kaddish and psalms.
The choreographic realisation by Johannes Schropp lends the music a physical dimension.

In the midst of a space created by sound and light technologies, visitors are immersed in a touching maelstrom of text, music, song and movement.
