Apartments are rare and expensive, and access to living space is not equally open to everyone. This is particularly difficult for migrant people - often completely denied. Racism and discrimination determine the market.
Business people are taking advantage of their plight by renting out caravans and containers in trailer parks at overpriced prices. Other marginalized people feel forced to live in so-called “wild” camps.
The districts are allowing these precarious living situations to be evicted. In most cases, residents do not have any prospects of secure housing options. People from the Roma* community are also affected by this.
Representatives from politics, administration, social work and activism will discuss with the audience on the podium. (Former) residents of precarious forms of housing are being contacted.
The panel will be interpreted consecutively in Romanian and German.
