The 19th edition of Artists Film International brings together artists and partner organisations from four continents and explores how power structures shape both the act of seeing and the conditions under which we are seen. At a time when images spread instantaneously across borders and surveillance increasingly shapes everyday life, the programme brings the relationship between the gaze and power to the fore. Whether it be protection, exposure, affirmation or denigration – the question of responsibility that accompanies every encounter between camera, subject and viewer arises throughout. Through exhibitions, film screenings and festivals throughout 2026, the selected works explore the politics of perception. At the same time, they propose forms of attention and collective presence that point towards alternative ways of seeing and making things visible.
