Uma Thurman at the Samurai Museum Berlin
For this limited-time special exhibition, the icon of film history has been brought from Hollywood to the museum and can be seen for the first time alongside historic samurai armor, masterfully forged swords, and original artifacts from Japanese cultural history.
Yellow. Striking. Unmissable.
What began as a yellow mystery on Instagram is now becoming the most extraordinary encounter of the summer.
The special exhibition combines film history, pop culture, and the world of the samurai in a way that has never been seen before in Berlin.
Why is a Hollywood icon standing among historic samurai armor? Because *Kill Bill* is one of modern cinema’s most famous tributes to Japanese culture. The film blends samurai myths, legendary swords, and the visual language of classic sword-fighting films into a story that has achieved cult status worldwide. The presentation at the Samurai Museum Berlin now brings this connection to life in a unique way.
The special exhibition also offers a new perspective on the museum’s permanent collection: How does the legacy of the samurai live on today? Among more than 1,000 original historical artifacts, visitors can see how stories, symbols, and values have been passed down over the centuries—from the warriors of feudal Japan to the icons of modern pop culture.
Visitors will not only encounter one of the most famous film characters of our time, but will also discover the historical origins of many motifs that shaped *Kill Bill*: masterfully forged swords, the Bushidō code of honor, and the fascinating world of the samurai, whose influence can still be felt today in films, TV series, video games, and pop culture worldwide.
The special exhibition is on view exclusively at the Samurai Museum Berlin through the end of October.
