art:berlin - The living culture of the 20s

In the green Zehlendorf

Zehlendorf was Berlin's most popular district in the 1920s. No industry or noisy leisure culture, but lots of nature and tranquility near water and Potsdam. Which city dweller could afford it? Between the existing bourgeois villa architecture, there was a new type of family home, as well as the radically new proposals for social apartment building. The architects of new building set standards that we still admire today. Explore the idea of new building in Zehlendorf.
