ID Festival 2024 –Philosophical cabaret

In the philosophical cabaret "ARETZ: Altneuland the Sequel?", a panel of practitioners and experts in Jewish and Zionist art discuss a possible second volume of Theodor Herzl's 1902 science fiction novel "Altneuland", which is considered the intellectual blueprint for the utopian vision of a Jewish state in Palestine.

A recently discovered new document now calls for a new reading of Herzl's story. The "Aretz Sketchbook", which is said to have been written around 1925 by an unknown person, consists of 60 ink drawings and notes of a never-finished, disillusioned graphic sequel to "Altneuland".

It is said that the end is also the beginning of something new. But what if such a "sequel" calls the story into question?
