10 days of open-air theater at Tempelhofer Feld

The ANUVERSUM is a unique open-air theater festival in Berlin, organized by Theater ANU 2025 at Tempelhofer Feld.

Over 10 days, visitors will experience an intensive program of poetic theater art, Nordic mythology, live cello music, performative experiments, workshops, rituals, sensory experience spaces, a myth dinner, and philosophical discussions on the theme:

"LOKI, ODIN, THOR – Of Tricksters, Giants, and Gods"

The emotional centerpiece of the festival is the evening's main production:

YGGDRASIL – Stories from the Edda
A sensual, bold, and touching theater experience inspired by the Nordic world of gods.

Theater meets myth – 13 program items for a unique festival experience

The ANUVERSUM is not just about experiencing, but also about participating and thinking along.

In 13 diverse formats, the ANU Theater showcases what has driven it since 2005: bringing myths to life, engaging audiences, and opening up new perspectives on society and identity.

Whether it's day-long workshops, intimate performance formats, philosophical talks, or scenic experiments – every encounter is a call to ask ourselves:

Who are the gods, giants, and tricksters in this time?

Nordic mythology meets the present

Given the current global situation with climate crises, political upheavals, and growing uncertainty, myth is more relevant than ever:
  • Loki – the trickster who creates chaos; giants – as symbols of unstoppable natural forces;
  • Odin and Thor – divine order in the tension between extremes

The ANUVERSUM creates a stage for these ancient questions – modern, immersive, and socially relevant.

A festival for Berlin – and for everyone who wants to experience theater in a new way

In its 13th year at Tempelhofer Feld, Theater ANU wants to showcase what inspires it artistically and get to know its audience better. Who are you – the people who laugh, cry, doubt, and hope here?
