Andreas Wunn in conversation with Dunya Hayali: Clean Times

When Jakob Auber, an editor in Berlin, learns that his father is dying, he sets out for the home of his childhood, Trier. There he begins to deal with his family's past for the first time. His grandfather, Theodor Auber, was a colorful figure in post-war Germany, a legendary inventor who invented a detergent that made him a rich man - until he lost everything under unexplained circumstances. On his search for clues, which takes him as far as Rio de Janeiro, where he meets the only surviving daughter of his grandfather's Jewish superiors, Jakob delves deeper and deeper into the family history.
