On 12 and 15 October 2026, Umberto Giordano’s opera *Andrea Chénier* will be performed at the Funkhaus Berlin. The German-Romantic Orchestra will perform under the baton of Gianluca Marcianò. The leading roles will be played by Angelo Villari as Andrea Chénier, Carmen Giannattasio as Maddalena and the renowned baritone Ludovic Tézier as Gérard.

Set against the backdrop of the French Revolution, Giordano’s opera tells a story of love, freedom and terror: the poet Andrea Chénier, who has been sentenced to death, and Maddalena find each other amidst the Reign of Terror and remain faithful to their love until the very end.
