25 years of the Gemäldegalerie am Kulturforum
From the Old Museum to the Bode Museum to Dahlem to the Cultural Forum: the almost 200-year history of the Gemäldegalerie took place in various museum buildings with very different exhibition concepts. There were significant acquisitions of paintings but also major losses.
A look at masterpieces such as Jan van Eyck's "Ghent Altarpiece", the work "Man with the Gold Helmet" previously attributed to Rembrandt, or "The Glass of Wine" by Jan Vermeer exemplifies the fate of the collection in the context of research and history.
