International competition for young German-language prose and poetry

The open mike promotes young literary talent and offers young authors a stage, brings them into contact with the literary public and serves to build networks. The open mike sustainably supports young talents and helps them to develop their own literary voice.


Nail Doğan, Josefine Soppa and Ralph Tharayil are former open mike finalists. Now they are presenting their newly released debuts. They are accompanied by their publishers and editors, who introduce the authors and provide insight into their publishing work.

The 31st open mike is an event organized by the House for Poetry in cooperation with the Heimathafen Neukölln and is supported by the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion.
