Photographic portraits of Berlin’s comic scene by Karoline Bofinger
"What does the photographic interpretation of a drawn world look like?" Photographer and long-standing comics curator Karoline Bofinger has explored this question and is presenting the exhibition STRICH – FLASH – BOOM at Neurotitan: a dialogue between photography and comic art, featuring seminal works from the Berlin comics scene and the people behind them.

Karoline Bofinger has set out in search of clues and captured the faces behind the defining works of Berlin’s comic scene. What makes this exhibition special is that it links photography directly with comic art. Each photograph translates the unmistakable style of the subject into its own visual language and enters into a direct dialogue with one of their original works within the exhibition space. This creates a vibrant interplay between photographic interpretation and graphic art.
