In the exhibition, language becomes a material object of thought through its connection with artistic practice. It itself becomes an aesthetic subject of diverse representations and also responds to the Hannah Höch Room at the Museum Reinickendorf. Connections can be drawn to everyday language, comics and graffiti, advertising, as well as visual and concrete poetry. Colours are replaced by words. This gives rise to a spatial rhetoric that engages the audience.
‘B E I N G L I N G U I S T I Q U E, on writing about art’ seeks to identify thematic areas in which the artists not only reference the legacy of the avant-garde but also reinterpret it. The exhibition responds to the Hannah Höch Room at the Museum Reinickendorf and connects internal and external spaces.
An initiative by Manfred Peckl and René Wirths, curated by Harald F. Theiss.
