What traces of the past can still be found in Berlin? Why is there a cross in front of St. Mary’s Church, and what did the residents do to combat diseases such as the plague or leprosy? What characterized social life in the Middle Ages, and how did the two cities of Berlin and Cölln come into being in the first place?
As members of the Hanseatic League, these cities were of great importance and attracted many visitors. The eventful history of both cities—which united as sister cities especially when threatened by robber barons—will be recounted during this walk through medieval traces, bringing it to life.
